The Eagle PROJECTS

Last Wednesday night was a big night for Connor and Parker. They have been working for months putting together their Eagle Projects. Connor chose to do quilts and Parker decided to do pillowcases and diversion boxes both for the Pediatric Unit at McKay Dee Hospital. They have gathered supplies and donations from the ward members who were very generous. They both received around $165 in cash plus many other donations of all kinds for the quilts and diversion boxes. It was a crazy night but by the time it was over we had 15 pillowcases finished, 28 diversion boxes covered and filled and 10 quilts bound and tied. It was impressive and I am always amazed how great people are when there is a purpose. Austin taught several men and boys how to use the sewing machine. Bennett was behind the camera but he lent a helping hand at the quilts, and with the sewing. The ladies were a little embarrassed to have to ask for help with the sewing machines from 2 teenage boys. Quincy was quite happy bouncing from here to there but she really enjoyed helping fill the boxes with the donated bubbles, crayons, notepads, play dough and stickers. It was a very successful night.

That is so awesome! Coming from one who experienced McKay Dee for a couple months, those projects mean so much to those in the hospital. Thanks for doing it boys! And I'm very impressed with the sewing skills!

Nice work! What a great feeling to be on the final eagle projects, only achievement days and personal progress to go! We enjoyed visiting with your boys tonight. They just laughed at us getting together to "gossip" tonight!
