Did someone say they wanted snow????

This is what was left after the storm on Christmas Day.......

Quincy's snow fort
Sledding Fun

Getting some excercise (I mean Hannah)
This is what we had the day after Christmas

Parker almost disappeared

We got at least a foot or more of snow. The first step of the porch disappeared too.

Christmas

Here are some of our Christmas pictures. We actually got to sleep in until 7 am. Kind of a change from the 4 am of a few years ago. I think all of the kids were happy. It sure is different with teenagers. Hope all of you had a great time too.

This is our Christmas morning visitor. He just sat there and let us take his picture. He surprised me on the front porch a couple weeks ago. Gave me quite a scare!

Connor with his much needed skates

Plans to fix his car!

More hockey gear (he got other things too)

Messed Up!!!

WEDNESDAY

FRIDAY

I pulled my calf muscle on Monday helping move cars around. This is what it looked like Wednesday and then today, Friday. It really looks worse than it is. The boys have been so good to help me and worry over me. Kind of nice!!! (Todd has been in Kansas City this week). It is strange that the bruising started in my ankle and then moved up to where the pain really was. It is feeling much better today. I now have a new appreciation for those with sports injuries and such!

Blueberry Pie and Gingerbread

Quincy made a blueberry pie for Thanksgiving. She didn't eat any, but it was delicious!
The finished work of art!

Having Fun Creating!

Our little pilgrim

Quincy had a Thanksgiving feast at preschool. They were given the choice of dressing up as a Pilgrim or an Indian. She was an Indian last year and here she is this year.

All smiles!!

Fall Wreath

Quincy and I found this in a book we were reading about the changing seasons and decided to try it out. It turned out very pretty. Quincy did the gluing herself!

Quincy's design

I some how got pink eye on Halloween. So, on Saturday a bored little girl decided that she needed to decorate her lamp shade. I totally agreed but my patience were thin. Quincy came up with this design all by herself. It turned out really cute. She is very proud of it!

Halloween

Connor Parker and Quincy carved Jack O Lanterns. It's kind of weird when they get old enough that they don't want to do that stuff anymore! Quincy dressed up as a veterinarian. Parker didn't dress up at all and still brought home half a pillowcase full of candy. Connor's pumpkin is in the middle. he said it has a nose guard. Yes that is a big bruise on Quincy's forehead. When we went to Todd's Aunt Ann's 85th birthday a man turned around and beaned her with his plate. It left quite a bruise. It was a good Halloween and such great weather!!!

Our harvest

We grew our own pumpkins this year. 5 in all. We even had enough to save one for
dinner in a pumpkin.

5 Years Old

Just wanted to share Quincy's 5th birthday with you. She had fun but wished Madi and Holly could be there. We had her party in the afternoon, that will never happen again. It was a long wait for a five year old. The kids that age are so cute. I wish I hadn't planned so many things so they could just play. That's what they all wanted to do. Her favorite things were the BALLOONS! Why buy gifts. She also got several little stuffed dogs in carriers. Now she has 3. One of her wishes she wrote on her get to know me at school was that she wants to have 1000 stuffed dogs. She is well on her way! Now where to put them all. At least they are a lot less work than the real thing. Darn Hannah!

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY QUINCY!!!

Big Leaves

We are finally loosing the leaves off our trees. We couldn't believe how big they were. Todd said they come from the very top of the trees. These are the trees we got from the Forest Service 9 or 10 years ago. We have been enjoying their shade for several years now.

Quincys First Field Trip

Quincy went on her 1st field trip of this school year. The 3 and 4 year old classes went together with parents. We took our a little neighbor boy with us (Cameron). His mom and dad were on a cruise. We went to Staker and Parsons Construction Co. It was really interesting. The kids liked it and the guy who took them around to see everything was so good with them. He showed them how to make concrete, talked about rocks and they even furnished the snack for all 24 kids and parents. Then every child got to sit in the cement truck and honk the horn. That is twenty four LOUD honks!!! It was a great day.

Parker

Parker decided to join the boys choir this year instead of taking Spanish. He hated the first week but after some encouragement he decided to stick it out. He found a couple of other boys in the class that didn't drive him crazy and has really enjoyed being in the class. He said the best part of the class is when the teacher has them do stretching exercises before they start singing. Wednesday, October 22nd was his first concert. They will do another concert at Christmas. I love it. I wish all of our boys would try it!

The First Snow of the Season

These were taken last Sunday when we got that early snow storm. Quincy and Park had a great time building snowmen and playing in the snow. I just love the bottom one. They were swinging and holding hands. What a sweet brother!

Canning!

Today I decided to make some jalapeno jelly (the boys love it so much with ham). All went well until I was wiping the rims to get them ready for the lids and rings. They were so hot I could hardly hold on and so I tried a towel. It just dripped it in the jelly. What a mess! I finally got all but the last one cleaned but when I took a hold of the last one it slid and was just about to fall on the floor so I grabbed it and it spilled all over my left hand. Mostly my pinkie and ring finger. Luckily I was close to the sink and could grab a rag and turn on the water. It didn't burn too bad but it really hurt and was very sticky. The best thing is, I didn't spill much of the last jar and I just heard the 6Th lid snap telling me that they are all sealed. SUCCESS! That is my favorite part of canning, the popping part!

Austin

This is a picture that Austin drew. It was one of 12 chosen from all of the Utah High Schools to be featured in 2009 Zero Fatalities Calendar. We are so proud of him. If you get a chance to see one of the calendars, he is July. The rest of the art was good too!

Dinosaur Museum

We took the kids to the Eccles Dinosaur Museum on Friday night. It was such great weather and we had fun wandering through the dinos and seeing the spooks.

Headless Connor

Hangin' with the dead!

Todd and I thought this costume was pretty good. He just walked around moaning, but he loved to have his picture taken.
